WHAT WE DO

Every day La Femme Fleur brings beautiful, New Zealand grown, fresh flowers to the heart of St Marys Bay, Ponsonby, Herne Bay and Westmere.

I fell in love with flowers while living in Paris. La Femme Fleur was inspired by my neighbourhood florist, where buckets of flowers lined the streets and locals would pick up bunches of roses and tulips wrapped in brown paper every day. When I returned to New Zealand, I wanted Aucklanders to do the same.In 2014 I opened my flower truck on the waterfront of Coxs Bay. In 2016 I opened my flower shop in the lobby space of the historic post office building on St Marys Rd.

I specialise in providing the most beautiful flowers, from New Zealand’s best growers, to fill your home. I want you to have flowers every day. I also make arrangements for any need or occasion in my signature lush style. My flowers change daily so come and visit the truck or shop to see what is in season, or trust me to fulfil all your floral needs. Please get in touch to place an order.

ABOUT US - The Flower Lady

In joy or sadness flowers are our constant friends.

Okakura Kakuzō

In 1946 Pablo Picasso created a series of paintings of his lover, and mother of his two children, Françoise Gilot, titled La Femme Fleur. In the paintings she grew elegantly from the earth, Picasso transformed her hair into a leaf canopy, her face into a flower.Living in Montmartre I was charmed by bunches of tulips wrapped in brown paper tucked under the arms of Parisians, and the pyramids of peonies at street markets. I adored how Parisians treated flowers as a necessity, and their vases would reflect the seasons as much as their kitchens. The name “La Femme Fleur” – translated as the flower woman – is a tribute to my time in Paris and the beauty of the city.

When I returned home to New Zealand I qualified as a florist then worked under some of Auckland’s most famous florists. Their luxurious style is a huge influence on me.As well as my unique floral design I wanted to offer fresh, beautiful and affordable flowers to have in the home every day – like my local florist in Paris. I want to be a part of the community.New Zealand has stunning local flowers, grown by outstanding nurseries across the country. Early summer, when the peonies are still here, the hydrangea have just started to arrive, and Freida the dog is basking on her back in the sun, is my favorite time of year. On a fine day at high tide there isn’t a better office in the world.
